If you're brave, take the train to Volgograd. Don't be a namby-pamby and buy a coupe ticket- go for platzkart instead. For those unaccustomed to Russian trains, platzkart is an open sleeping wagon. The word 'open' may be misleading- what I mean is that there are no separate cabins or curtains. It is anything but spacious!
