Someone (I think on VT) said that crossing the Valka-Valga border is difficult and requires a taxi across the checkpoint or something.
Nothing of the sort- get off the bus, walk along the road to the checkpoint, queue up behind the little wooden bench, get your passport stamped and step over the bench.
Just a short walk to the Estonian checkpoint, and you're in Valga. |
Secure parking I can't imagine that many people would go to such extremes to protect their cars from the local population, but this one really looks worth taking care of... |
Town centre Valga isn't really the kind of place you think of as a town with a centre- you'd be forgiven for walking past the centre without noticing it. This tower has some interesting history, which I'm reading up on at the moment. I'll add info to this when I get the chance. |
