Well here we were hoildaying in Malta and we decided to have a short trip to Sicily 2 nights /3 days .
On a wet morning we hop on the Air Malta flight to Catania hoping that the rain would stop by the time we got to Catania ,how wrong we were it rain for the next 3 days just a light drizzle .we had no accommodation booked so we hop into the frist pension we found.and still hoping the sun would came out .lucky our penssion was very close to the bus and train station so after resting we ventured out in the light drizzle and made our frist purchase in Catania two unbrellas and as we were close to the train station we check out how to get to Taormina the next day ,and for us it seemed that the train was the best way to go , Taormina was just a 55 km trip , |
|  | Beauiful Taormina The train trip from Catania to Taormina took us under 1 hour and we were lucky to get an intercity train which was more comforable .At Taormina's train station which is said to Italy's most beautiful we hop on a bus to take up the 200 meters above sea level to the city centre aND WHAT A BUS RIDE it was I don't know how the buses got around the the corners , after being wet, negotiation our unmrellas abd being disappointed by the rain at last we were in Taormina and nothing was going to stop us enjoy ourself , I tell you rain or sun Taormina is just too beautiful for words ,if you are in Sicily don't miss it |
3 days in Toarmina As the last time we were in Taormina it was only a day trip and it was
Raining we just had make it back someday ,this time we had 7 weeks in
Italy (May/June 08 ) so after a few days in Rome we toke the night train
To Taormina and booked into the hotle Condor for 3 days so as to see
What we had missed the last time . We tooked the bus to Mazzaro and hed lunch by the beach and we were lucky to have a tour of Isoa Bella and to
Return back ew tooked the cable car , we found that Taormina was a great
Place for some R&R after a busy few days in Rome and before going to
Catania . |
