My first trip to Las Vegas

by Royal63 - last update: Jan 2, 2007

Arrival to the Las Vegas Hilton Hotel

A View of the lobby.
We wanted to stay off the strip, so we chose this particular hotel because it is easy access (using the monorail system) to the other hotels we wanted to visit. It was a very nice hotel, but the staff at the front desk and box office were average. They seemed to have no energy, very plain personalities.
We did not fly there to gamble, so I won't be raving on about how great it is to waste your money on gambling. We flew there only to see Barry Manilow and Wayne Newton. WELL worth the trip! We WILL be back.

The Barry Manilow Store

Part of the reason we flew to Las Vegas was to see Barry Manilow's Music and Passion show. FANTASTIC!!! I highly recommend this show. Barry sang for a little over 1 1/2 hours. The place was packed.
The gift store carries a lot of great items with Barry's name or face on them.

Star Trek Experience

Whether you are a Star Trek fan or not, you have got to eat inside the Quark's cafe at least once. VERY good food, reasonably priced. Sometimes Klingon's walk around there, but when we were there, none were found. To the right is a big area you can walk around in (extra charge) to see Star Trek things. We did not, so I cannot tell you what exactly is in there. To the left down the stairs is Quark's cafe and a huge gift shop.

Pros:"Great shows, great food and great hotel rates"

In A Nutshell:"Lots of people, good food, and GREAT shows."
