"Devarayanadurga - An Ideal place for rock climbing" India by prakashkamani

Perched at a height of 1,188 mts is Devarayanadurga(79 Kms from Bangalore), a famous pilgrim center sitting atop a magnificient hill. Temples dedicated to Ugra Narasimha are situated at the top of the hill. Very scenic way to the top. While coming down, you can turn the engine off and just glide your way down (not recommended though for safety reasons).

At the foot of the hill there is a natural water spring (Take a deviation at 10th milestone). There is an artificial lake that spreads over nearly 1000 acres. The Indo-Danish Dairy project and Government Horticultural and dairy farms are located here.

This is a small natural lake around 35 KM from Bangalore. It just few km from the Big Banyan Tree. At this lake, there is a small dam.
