We have visited the Alicante region many times now in the last 4 - 5 years. We usually stay in a small town called Santa Pola, but always include a day or two in Alicante.
I love the way it has a cosmopolitan edge, but at the same time, the traditional cafes and bars you associate with a Spanish town. A stroll along the main pedestrian walkway is always nice, with many (non persistent) street vendors offering the wares.
This walkway is also lined with many shops and outdoor cafes - something for everyones taste, and great for people watching.
For those who like a commercial edge, theres a McDonalds too! We haven't been in a couple of years, but it's bound to have been followed by a Burger King and KFC! |
