"Back to my roots?" India by Alvik

The trip to India was spotted with misfortune and unhappiness and I'm not sure I want to go back again. However I took several interesting pictures so enjoy!

Little flower girls

Right after I took this picture, a group of adults surrounded me and claimed they were all related to the kids and wanted to be "paid" for taking their pictures. It took about half an hour of me standing firm and shaking my head every 3 minutes to get them off me.

Gent's Specialist?

This is my most interesting picture which some might deem as inappropriate as it has some kind of a sexual connotation mixed with poverty. I think regardless of its ulterior motive, it was a photo opportunity I took and is interesting

The bus I was on slowed down to let a big truck pass on the road. I turned and saw this poor woman squatting and grinding spices on a granite table, muddy ground around the shack, the wet saree behind her and then the letters written in red on her right. It was obviously a tailor's house and it was just a coincidence that she was right next to the sign! Anyway it came out fine and its a little cheeky but nice!

• Pros:Amazing showcase of culture, tradition and history
• Cons:People have forgotten to appreciate the country's temples and its history. Also too dirty, too many beggars, scary place to eat out!
• In a nutshell:Worth a visit but hey, don't drink the water!
