Pekan, literally translated means “Small Town”. It is one of the 11 districts in the State of Pahang. It is known as the Royal Town as the Sultan of Pahang resides here with his family in Istana Abu Bakar. (Abu Bakar Palace). Pekan is located 40km south of Kuantan, the state capital town. The size of this district is 3,805 km square, making it the largest of district in Pahang with population of 103,000.
