Mi Casa del Mar
Mi Casa del Mar is a seafood restaurant with a Mexican flare. The interior is very beautiful and has a courtyard setting. It is a newer restaurant and is worth a try.
It is owned by the owners of Mi Casa, who also own other restaurants in Cabo.
Favorite Dish: I had the tortilla soup to start, which was a bit different than the usual tortilla soups - this one was green and had a unique taste.
For dinner, I had the octopus. It is cooked in olive oil and it melts in your mouth.

Carlos & Charly's was a popular tourist restaurant and night spot. If you plan on looking for it when you go to Cabo, it closed down sometime in 2003.

Ruth's Chris @ Puerto Paraiso
Ruth's Chris is a chain of steakhouses that are all over the US and in a few international locations, but I thought I would give an opinion on this one in Cabo.
Although it is excellent food and still the best steakhouse in Cabo, I was not impressed with this Ruth's Chris in particular. The interior is great, and the outdoor seating area is very comfortable, but the overall atmosphere is not the same as you would find in a place where steakhouses are more common and competitive, such as Chicago.
If you are really craving a great steak, or do not have a Ruth's Chris where you live, come here for dinner - you will not be disappointed in the food. But if you do have a Ruth's Chris near you, I would recommend a local restaurant instead.
And if you do decide to eat here and Adrian is your waiter, he is an excellent waiter.
Favorite Dish: My favorite meal is the filet mignon. The sound of it sizzling as it is brought to you makes it even more appetizing.
The onion soup and the lobster bisque are a great way to start a meal here.

Pancho's
Pancho's is the perfect restaurant for your first night in Cabo. The food is excellent, whether you get seafood or the Mexican specialties. If you went fishing earlier in the day, bring your catch and they will cook it the way you like it.
The atmosphere is very comfortable, relaxing, and friendly. There is also a mariachi band. The restaurant is named for Pancho Villa. They also have the largest tequila collection in the world.
I would recommend you definitely eat here during your trip, and get a reservation.
Pancho's is also open for breakfast. The hours are 7AM - 11PM.
Favorite Dish: The tortilla soup is the best in Cabo. Don't fill yourself up with the complimentary chips and salsa.
For dinner, the lobster tail is great but also the priciest item on the menu. The whole red snapper is excellent. The Mexican dishes are also very good.

Margaritavilla
This restaurant has a nice setting on the marina. You can sit indoors or outdoors. Music can leak in from the Nowhere Bar, which is next door, but the mariachi band usually drowns out the sound. The restaurant itself is nicely decorated.
The food is Mexican with some steak and seafood on the menu.
It is open from 7AM to midnight.
Decent place to eat, but not a "must".
Favorite Dish: The tortilla soup is great, and the fajitas, whether you get chicken, beef, or shrimp, are very good.

Lenny's Front Entrance
This is a traditional breakfast place and deli with a very laid back and friendly atmosphere. They have the usual breakfasts, like eggs and pancakes, and deli sandwiches for lunch. Good selection of drinks, juices, & smoothies. It is open from 7AM - 4PM and closed on Mondays.
Favorite Dish: Since it is in Mexico after all, my favorite breakfast are the huevos rancheros. I have only gone to Lenny's for breakfast, so I can't comment on the sandwiches personally, but I have never heard anything negative.

This is one of the best Italian restaurants I have ever been to. The food and the sauces are excellent. One of the owners, Antonella, was our server. She was very friendly and made us feel very welcome.
The seating is outdoors and in a very comfortable and spacious setting. I would make reservations before going. It is closed Mondays. Also, I believe the restaurant is closed for the entire month of September each year.
Favorite Dish: Starting with appetizers, the bruschetta is perfect. The calamari melts in your mouth and the sauce is amazing. The sausage roll is excellent.
For dinner, I like the Spaghetti al Calamari which is great.
Desserts are enormous - enough for 2. The chocolate mousse is very rich. The tiramisu is great, and the baked apple pastry is excellent.
Overall, everything is very fresh and prepared perfectly.

Mi Casa's colorful setting and decorations makes it very welcoming once inside. Eat under a roof or under the sky. Food presentation is nice. The cost is very reasonable.
It can be cramped but it is worth it for the food. This is one restaurant that I would not pass up. Reservations are recommended.
Favorite Dish: The best meals I have had here are the Chile en Nogada (stuffed poblano pepper), Carne Asada, Jumbo Shrimp, and Las Carnitas de Michoacan (oven-roasted pork).
I have also had the Mole Poblano, the sauce was interesting and the chicken was great. It wasn't my favorite meal there but, who knows, you may like it.
I always have a bowl of the tortilla soup before my meal. Other good appetizers are the seafood ceviche and the Ceviche Esmeralda (ribs).

Preparing Mexican Coffee
This place is not in the center of town and sort of hidden away. The name makes it sound like it wouldn't be that great and doesn't belong in Mexico, but it is one of the best restaurants in Cabo.
The outdoor setting is beautiful and the waiters are very friendly. Have a mariachi band play a song while you eat. This place is know mainly for its seafood, but there are some mexican dishes on the menu.
If you really want to light up the night, order the $5200 peso bottle of Cristal.
Bring a big appetite and call ahead for reservations because it is usually packed.
Favorite Dish: If you come here, you have to try one of the combos, which the waiters will explain with a tray of uncooked meats and seafood when you sit down. The combos can be mixed any way you like, with filet mignon, ribeye, fresh catch of the day, lobster, and enormous shrimp (isn't that an oxymoron?). I definitely recommend getting a lobster tail as part of a combo. This is some of the best lobster I have ever had. The Aztec Soup (tortilla soup) is also great.
For dessert, the bananas flambee and either the Mexican coffee or Edith's coffee are a must. Each is prepared tableside and watching the blue flames being poured by a very skilled waiter is a great show after your meal. Besides being fun to watch, it tastes great.
