"Washington 34, Purdue 24" Pasadena by grkboiler

I went to Pasadena for the 2001 Rose Bowl game to watch my school, Purdue, play Washington. We didn't have a very good game and lost 34-24, but it is an experience I will never forget. This marked only the 2nd trip ever to the Rose Bowl for Purdue (the last one being 1967).

I flew into LAX with my friend Brian and his family 2 days before the game and stayed in nearby Glendale. We visited a few places in the area, spent New Year's Eve at Universal Studios at a Purdue party, and went to the Tournament of Roses Parade early the next morning. We had a great time at the game, and then headed back to Chicago the next day.

I didn't see much of Pasadena, but did get to take in Beverly Hills, Hollywood, and a few other spots. If you ever have a chance to get to a Rose Bowl game and parade, it is well worth it. I will never forget this experience and it is one of my best memories of college.
