Off The Beaten Path: Szentendre

Szentendre is a small town on the Danube located 25 km from Budapest. It has some museums, some Orthodox churches, and plenty of souvenir shops and restaurants. It was built up over several generations of Serbian and Greek refugees escaping Ottoman rule. Visit my Szentendre page for more. If you take the HEV line from Batthyany ter, you will get to Szentendre in about a half hour.
