I hadn't intended to visit Alcobaça but we kinda well, accidentally didn't get off the bus in Obidos and wound up in Alcobaça.
What a happy chance! Not only did we get to see a wonderful Monastery, but there was a festival of sweets made by nuns and monks of the area, which meant that there were mounds of amazing looking portuguese sweets to be admired and tasted.
