Millennium Seoul Hilton and other Seoul, South Korea Hotel/Accommodation Reviews

Perhaps most famous for being the location, in December 1997, of the fraught meetings between the Korean government and the IMF, the Millenium Hilton is an excellent hotel, offering more facilities than most 5 star hotels I have used recently.
The staff are friendly and attentive, and the hotel's wide open spaces in the lobby and dining areas are relaxing and tatsefully decorated.
The rooms have the usual 5-star facilities, an excellent shower and have good views either over Namsan, or the downtown skyscrapers around Seoul station.
Normally 5-star chain hotels are unmemorable, but the Seoul Hilton manages somehow to be a bit different.

It's location is excellent, with the palaces just ten minutes north, the river ten minutes south and the parks and open woodland of Namsan just across the road.

Unique Qualities: The hotel is the second stop on the KAL #2 Airport Limousine/coach service

The Holiday Inn is in a useful location. It's not actually right *at* anywhere, but it is not *far* from anywhere. Getting to and from Incheon Airport is particularly easy as the Holiday Inn is the first stop (on the way in) and the last stop (on the way to the airport).
The hotel does show its age a bit, and the rooms are on the small side, but for Seoul wth its astronomically high accommodation prices, the Holiday Inn is good value.
The hotel staff are particularly friendly and the ground floor coffee-shop restaurant is also excellent.

Unique Qualities: Just around the back of the hotel is a nice area of noisy restaurants and small stores. It's fun in the evening.
