If you are planning to spend a week or so in The Cinque Terre area you might be better off renting an apartment . With the Euro being high you will be able to save $$$ if you can cook your own meals . We found a place in Vernazza that was perfect. So long as you don't mind 130 or so steps..But it did have a small terrace with a great view over looking the main St and harbor . The kitchen was tiny but well equiped . I even donated my salad spinner to the collection . I wish I was there right now cooking up a pot of pesto.

Unique Qualities: Great view from top floor and terrace . Also had a nice bathroom with a tub!! It is a two story with double bedroom and bath on the 1st floor. Top floor has a living /dinning area which can also sleep two people . We were there April 2004 and the price was 650 E for one week . Not bad .
