Omsk
If you travel to Russia, I highly suggest learning the cyrillic alphabet. Many words are similar and can be deciphered. I noticed, from other pages, some translations were incorrect. Before I made my trip I learned the aplhabet and a little of the language. I am in the process of learning the language. I learned a lot about the culture, life and people in Omsk. Often, one has preconceived ideas or stereotypes. Life in Russia is not as it is portrayed in much of the Western world.

Have an open mind and don't hold onto stereotypes.

Pros and Cons

Pros:Warm, friendly people - a very nice place. I have friends there.
Cons:Still rebuilding after end of communism/socialism
In a nutshell:A very historical city
