Damascus is considered to be the oldest continually occupied city on earth.
My pictures for the city did not turn out that well, as it was very hot and dusty everytime I was in the city.
This picture was taken inside the Souk on a hot and sunny day (as most summer days in Damascus are). It was taken to give you and idea of how crowded and narrow the isles and stalls are, even inside the souk.
Not a very good photo, but one of the city gates dating from the time of Christ.

Damascus is a fascinating city! When I go there again I will defenitly visit The House of Ananias!
You have such a competitive page. Your pictures are full of life and information. I hope you will visit the rest of the Arab countries very soon. Bravo plexus77 you deserve a hand clap. Shokran. Majed from Saudi.
Don't put your pictures down, they are great. The House of Ananias sounds interesting esp how the road level has changed so much. The crafts there sound an interesting purchase.
