This picture was taken in Southern Oregon near Shore Acres State Park. The wave must be 100 ft. tall! Look at the man standing there, high up on the right hand side, near to the surf. He moved off of his perch shortly thereafter!

Welcome to my homepage. I have just started out on VT and am scrambling around trying to figure out VTML, what pages allow what and so on.
My pages will probably be a little different than most pages you will encounter on VT, as much of the travelling I have done has been while working, so the sights I have seen, and what I will try to bring forth are sights which are not on the day to day tourists list of things to see and do.
I have lived in Oregon, California, Kentucky, Texas, Jamaica and India and while I have not had the opportunity to visit as many places as many here in VT have had, hopefully I can bring something a little different and new.
Sorry about the picture! It just seems everytime you have a picture for which you posed....it looks unnatural....So, here I bare my soul...This is a picture someone took while I was sleeping....so no attitudes, no poses, no secrets.

I have visited many magical, mystical places in my life and hopefully by bringing pictures of places most will never see, or that do not exist anymore, I can bring a little of that lost magic into your life.

What I do

Heading Offshore

This is a picture I took while heading offshore in Northern Scotland.
Often times throughout my career I have needed to travel offshore. Sometimes things can be a little upsetting. Don't be afraid of heights if you need to go offshore.

Up from below

This is how you get onboard one of these offshore rigs. If the weather is good, you can usually fly in on a Helicopter, but if the weather is bad, you have to take a boat.
When you try to climb on one of these "man baskets" you need to realize the basket is tied to a crane, which is not moving. The boat however is moving up and down with the waves, some times bouncing the "man basket" 10-12 feet off of the deck. You have to throw your gear into the center of the basket, wait for the basket to hit the deck, then jump on quickly before the ship drops out from under you. Sometimes it takes two or three tries before the basket stops long enough to jump on!

The Oregon Surf.

The Surf can be pretty wild in Oregon, as you can see from this picture and the one above. True especially in the winter months. Tourists are warned not to walk on the beach at night, and to pay attention during the day, as waves like these can actually hurl huge logs onto the beach. Many people have been hurt or killed by logs and "sneaker" waves.

Watching the North

If you are interested in Archeology, a visit to Mid-East is a must!! It is one of the wolds best locations to see the march and collapse of civilizations over the centuries. I have shown some of the lesser know locations on my Syria page, all of which are very worth visiting.

I took this picture of my friend modeling some jewelry we purchased in India. The picture is inside the Vadodara WelcomGroup hotel in India. Jewelry is fairly reasonable in India and one of the few places to purchase 22k gold. Silver, of course, at the current prices is a good buy almost anywhere.
