One of the most beautiful places on earth!

by Jerelis - last update: Dec 22, 2003

Hiking paradise.

Really amazing spots to go to at Yosemite.
The granite rocks with their waterfalls and the by the meadow surrounded lakes at Yosemite are breathtaking.

It probably makes it one of the most beautiful places on earth.
The very impressive El Capitan .

Best visited National Park.

Mysterious woods and enormous steep rock faces definately contribute to the popularity of Yosemite. About 3 million tourists visit Yosemite every year which makes it the best visited National Park of California.

The worlds largest monolith is the majestic "uluru" or Ayers Rock in Australia. It rises 1,134 feet above the surronding desert. The large sandstone rock formation forms an oval that is 1.5 miles wide & 4 miles long.

Too bad Yosemite Falls was completely dry when you were there. We went hiking there in March one year (long ago!) and there were torrents of water everywhere. And speaking of water, I really like your "Do drink enough!!!" tip.

Great page on Yosemite! I loved the title of your Travelogue: "Diary of a Madman" as I titled my journey up Mt. Kilimanjaro: "Memoirs of a Madwoman!" ;-)
