Restaurant Name: Palm Beach R.S.L. Sub Branche Club Ltd
It's quite simple. RSL Clubs are all over Australia. The RSL evolved as a direct result of the camaraderie, concern and mateship shown by the "Diggers" for the welfare of their mates during and after the 1914 - 1918 War. That ethos of compassion and service remains today the motivating influence of the League. To eat at the RSL you must me at least 18 and first join the RSL and complete an application form.
The Barrenjoey Bistro is a highly popular food court and is located towards the back of the club and adjoins a delightful beer garden with sheltered tables and a bird aviary. The food available at the bistro is best described as modern Austrailian fusion cuisine and doesn't take a specific category, but it is, nonetheless, delicious.
The process to order was rather ridiculous. We had to queue up to order which took us about 30 minutes. When I go out with friends or relatives, I do not expect to spend a decent portion of time waving to them back at the table whilst the 'order deligation' inches forward in a queue. We'll give them the benefit of the doubt and put it down to teething problems and will return some day, because the food was great and does have potential.
Favorite Dish: We've sampled most of the menu - the rack of lamb, steak or scampi are all favourites and the pizza and nibble platters are cheaper options that won't disappoint. This restaurant is drawing the crowds in so you may need to book ahead for a table.
