Yellowstone National Park Travel Guide: 1,136 reviews and 3,650 photos

Yellowstone National Park was the one that started it all. On march 2, 1872 the US Congress made Yellowstone the first National Park in the world. Each year more than three million people visit the park which is 2.2 million acres (829,600 hectare). The Geysers and wildlife in the region have been protected for more than 100 years and that protection has left it as close to it's original beauty as possible.
Although I spent a week trying to see everything that I could in Yellowstone I found that to really scratch the surface of what this park has to offer you would need much much more time. Nearby attractoins: Mesa Falls.

What a great collection of waterfalls you have here! I especially liked Union and Fairy Falls in your OTBP tips. It was also very nice to see a winter landscape view of Mesa Falls! Great work Colin.

Hi Colin. Very extensive & detailed information here with lovely photos - simply a great VT page :-) We do a lot of hiking in the Scottish Highlands, hope to make it "across the pond" one year, though! Greetings from the desert / Jess

Great page! I've never been to Yellowstone, but it is one the parks I have to visit some day. The waterfalls and geysers look very beautiful
