Hayden Valley Yellowstone
After a 4 year break I returned to Yellowstone. It was much needed. Only 3 days but I did find plenty of time to do some hiking and see a whole bunch of waterfalls. I think Yellowstone is officially my favorite National Park for the fact that it has more variety than any other. Animals, scenery, thermal features, the list goes on. If you want to see what the west was like before European settlers came in and destroyed it forever, this may be your closest chance.
Reflection Lake and Mt. Rainier
I have visited Mount Rainier once again. I was a little sad to see the Stevens Canyon Road closed but not much a can do about that. I did however get to see plenty of excellent waterfalls. Take a look at my Mount Rainier National park page and see what makes this mountain so special.
The Columbia River Gorge area is spectacular. I went on a 4 day marathon of waterfalls in 2007 and once again spent a few days down there in May. I still have yet to scratch the surface of what is to be found there. My first visit sent me to Tygh Valley Area From there i went to the town of Mosier, the Hood River Area, Starvation Creek, Wyeth, Bonneville, John B Yeon State Park and the Multnomah Falls Area then backtracked a bit and went North into Washington to see several more waterfalls South of Mount St Hellens. In all I hiked over 40 miles (64 km) and saw 38 new waterfalls.
Wahclella Falls
Logan Pass at Glacier National Park
Glacier National Park
Has quickly become one of my favorite in the National Park system. I'm not sure how it compares with the likes of Zion, Yellowstone, or Yosemite but it is amazing nonetheless. I only had a few days there before i had to get back to school and the road was set to close the next weekend but i sure did get my feet wet so to speak.
I have just returned once again from another marathon of Waterfalls. Once again into Oregon I began my sojourn in Olympia at Tumwater Falls Park on my way down. Then I took a day to enjoy Cannon Beach, Ecola Sate Park and Cape Meares. Then it was on to the business at hand. The first waterfalls were in the Pleasant Valley. I then went to Silver Falls State Park. Many of the waterfalls that I saw were just outside the park boundary. I hope you like the pages. Done! Several new pages are on the way as soon as i get some time away from big school projects.
Lower North Falls
Sunset Beach on the North Shore
I had a great time in Honolulu and i really want to go back. During my trip I stayed away from all of the touristy stuff and tried to see as much of the natural scenery as possible. I think I was successful. I saw 7 waterfalls, 3 lighthouses, several cool buildings, and plenty of other excellent scenery.
Check out the waterfalls: Maunawili Falls, and Several near Honolulu.
And the Lighthouses: Diamond Head Lighthouse, Barbers Point Lighthouse, and Makapu'u Point.
And the other stuff: Byodo-in Temple, and excellent scenery in La’ie and Hawai’I Kai as well as Waimea on the North Shore.
Lighthouses are two for the price of ONE! OK not really but they were both free to visit so i guess the price was free on the second one so I'm sticking too it. Washington has a handful of great lighthouses. Most are on the Pacific Coast and in the Islands North of Seattle, but their area a few in the Puget Sound area as well. Such as: Admiralty Head, Alkai Point, Browns Point, Dofflemyer Point, Marrowstone, Mukilteo, Point No Point, Point Wilson, Point Robinson, Skunk Bay, and West Point. I had to add one more that isn't in the Sound. Dungeness Lighthouse
And some in Oregon too:
Cape Meares Lighthouse
Heceta Head lighthouse
Yaquina Head Lighthouse
Heceta Head Lighthouse
