Bauska located in Zemgale and Zemgale is...

Zemgale one of four Latvian cultural and historical regions, which in North borders with Vidzeme region, but in the south with the Republic of Lithuania, and includes Dobele, Jelgava, Bauska and Aizkraukle districts. Zemgale is traditionally seen as Latvia’s “granary” with fruitful soil and well-developed agriculture. Since old times, Zemgale has developed as economically strong region with many cultural and historical ties. There still have remained Zemgale famous castle mounds, and one can find here Latvia’s most beautiful and richest palaces and manors, beautiful nature parks and trails. Daugava, Lieupe, Musa and Memele – legendary rivers with different stories run through Zemgale.

 interesting castle. It seems there is Latvian flag on every ruins in the country :-) The name sounds like Babuska in Russian :-)
