  • Prado Museum is one of the best art galleries in the world. There are Goya’s and Velazquez’s works in collection of Prado. You can see Spanish, French, Flemish and Dutch, German, Italian paintings, sculptures, decorative arts, drawings and prints in Prado.

  • Tuesday to Sunday and public holidays 9 am – 7 pm. 24 and 31 December 9 am – 2 pm. Last entry 30 minutes before closing. Visitors requested to start vacating the galleries 10 minutes before closing.
    CLOSED: 1 January, Good Friday, 1 May and 25 December.
    Free admission for all:
    Sundays, 18 May (International Museums Day), 12 October (National Holiday), 6 December (Constitution Day). Guided groups tours not allowed on Sundays and public holidays.

  • The collection of Spanish painting ranges from 12th century Romanesque mural paintings to 19th century works of Goya. On the ground floor is the collection of Medieval and Renaissance paintings and an outstanding group of works by El Greco. On the main floor are paintings by Ribera, Murillo, Velazquez and other Spanish painters of the Golden Age. The Goya collection, which includes more then hundred paintings, distributed between the main floor and the second floor.

    Prado Museum: Expositions in Prado: Flemish and Dutch paintings

  • From the 16th century, the Spanish crown governed the Netherlands and this explains the wealth of Flemish paintings in the Prado. The collections of paintings by early Netherlands artist – Weyden, Bouts, Memling – together with paintings by Bosch and Brueghel displayed on the ground floor. On the main floor is the collection of 17th century by Flemish paintings, which includes works by Rubens, Van Dyck and Brughel.

  • Brought mostly from Italy between the 16th and 19th centuries, The Museum’s collection of classical sculptures includes Greek works from the Archaic to Hellenistic periods and a significant group of Roman carvings. Works by Leone and Pompeo Leoni, commissioned by Charles V and Philip II in the 16th century, from an important part of the Prado’s sculpture collection.

  • Square of Spain located in the Old historical part of Madrid not far from the Royal Palace. The monument of a great Spanish writer Miguel de Servantes and two his famous heroes: Don Quixote and Sancho Panza surrounded with fountains and gardens. It is a marvellous place for walking and enjoying the atmosphere of Madrid.
