This is the view of Patong beach. It's not the most cleanest or most beautiful of all beaches but has been polluted by the throngs of foreign and local tourists who frequented the site. Patong beach is also the home for most sea sports activities such as wakeboarding, para-sailing, jet skiing, kite flying, etc......

This is taken at the Patong beach. Although it is very congested with tourists, it's beauty still remains.

This picture is taken at Nai Harn Beach. This beach is quieter and very peaceful. It is unlike Patong beach which is exploited by tourist. In the evening, the waves are strong so it is not advisable to swim when the waves are strong.

Chalong Bay is a set off point for island hopping tourists. There are ferries and boats going to Phi Phi Islan and James Bond Island on a timely basis. Coral Island and other the nearby islands in phuket are also available by long tailed boats or speed boats.

Catching sunset at Panwa Cape is a totally different feeling. To come here to catch sunset, i have to drive almost an hour from Patong to Panwa Cape. There are a few resorts at Panwa Cape which is popular with the Japanese and Korean tourists. The Phuket Underwater World is also located at Panwa Cape.

Off The Beaten Path: Phi Phi Island

Phi Phi island is one of the most beautiful creation done by nature. it offers crystal clear blue water and uninhabited beaches. Every visitor who came to this island will automatically fall in love with Phi Phi. Phi Phi offers accomodation ranges from a couple of hundreds bahts during the low season to as high as few thousand bahts per night during the high season. It is a relatively small island. Therefore, the best form of transport are your legs. You can hike up the hill at Phi Phi which overlooks the entire surroundings of Phi Phi. Water sports are always available. But it is advisable to play water sports in the morning as the waves are pretty rough in the evening. At night, no matter where you are, the noise from the pubs and disco are bound to disturb you. After a hard day of diving and snorkelling, the tourists will normally head down to one of the pubs for leisure. No matter what, Phi Phi island is only not to be missed.

madmatg Sat Dec 6, 2008 08:24 UTC Well i stayed at the Karon beach hotel and it was nice. BUT the transport totally ripped us off; the hotel wanted 1500 baht to take us to the airport...crazyness | esmi_74 Tue Nov 13, 2007 04:33 UTC Hi Shane, how much (S$) do I need to bring for a 3d2n stay @ Patong Beach?... We are are family of 5...our package doesn't include lunch & dinner & we intend 2 shop lots of "branded" bags there too! Is S$500 enough or too much? PS : We love to bargain. | phuketres Wed Aug 29, 2007 15:01 UTC The restaurant at the top of Promthep Cape is great for sunset drinks and cocktails, because of the fabulous views. Do not eat here. I have done twice, the Thai food was very expensive, tasteless, and in tiny portions. The service was really bad. | sarahreynold Sun Apr 1, 2007 10:37 UTC Good pics, nice pages. |
