This is a sea-view bungalow. And the beach is just about 20m away. And it is a private beach, catered for hotel guests only.

An ideal place for nude swimming and sun-tanning.

This hotel is remote and isolated. Located at the extreme southern tip of Phuket. It is not easily accessible unless you are driving. But every taxi or tuk-tuk driver should be able to know this hotel.

Fantastic atmosphere if you like the combination of nature, forest and sea at your offerings.

They provide airport transfer from airport to hotel at around 1000baht per van.

Recently, on my last trip to Phuket dated back 4th Jan 2004, a visit to this hotel again, i found that it is selling at 4500 bahts per night. A really gigantic leap compared to my 700 bahts paid during the SARS period.

Unique Qualities: A 35 rooms hotel, with swimming pool and restaurant overlooking the sea and surrounded by a jungle of tress. It also has car rental and travel helpdesk at the reception.

They have also built a sun tann platform on iheir private beach.

The rooms are marvellous. Very unique and its thai style. You can see it from the picture.

This hotel my No.1 choice.

This is the newly built sun-tanned area on its very own private beach. The sea is suitable for swimming during the low tides.

On The Hill Resort is a rather small resort with about 10 rooms. The rooms are cleaner and more comfortable than many other similar hotels/resorts at Patong beach. It only facility is the ocean view restaurant made of bamboo and internet service. However, the beach of Karon is just at your door step and you will probably be very engrossed with the beautiful scenery.

I stay there for a week and in fact stay there on 3 seperate occasions. It is situated along the route from Patong beach to Karon beach. One can easily miss the hotel if not attentive enough.

This hotel is sitting on the slope of the hill overlooking the beautiful Karon beach from the room or swimming pool. That is why only the hotel reception is visible from the road. However, it is just beside Central Karon Village.

The rooms offers the good view of Karon beach.The interior layout is normal. But its breezy and airy. It is cooling even on a sunny afternoon.

The staffs are very friendly. I remember the chef brought breakfast personally to my room when he did not saw me in the restaurant. I am so touched. The food are fantastic and delicious especially the salted fish fried rice and deep fried vegetable.

The swimming pool is also fantastic. Good view and has a pool side bar.

Low season: 1000 bahts / per night
High season: 1600 bahts / per night

Firstly, I salute the way this hotel is being designed and built as well as its management strategy. I was being told by the manager that this hotel is owned by a local Thai-chinese from easthern Thailand.

Sweet Home is an 8-rooms posh hotel. Imagine an 8-rooms hotel offering private swimming pool, sauna, restaurant, Thai massage and hair & beauty salon. Yes!!! Its an incredible feat for Sweet Home and its still standing firm. This hotel is more like a private residential property than a hotel.

All rooms are beautifully designed and feature private balconies, overlooking the pool and with an ocean view.

Room amenities include air-conditioning, satellite TV, refrigerator, minibar, en-suite bedroom with hot and cold shower, safety box and laundry services. Other facilities include swimming pool, with poolside bar, conference room and a motorcyle or car hire service.

Sweet Home also has a hair and beauty salon offering massage, haircuts, highlights, hair extension, manicures, nail extentions, pedicures, facial and other treatments. A traditional Thai massage by the pool, amongst the scented tropical flowers is also available upon request.

On my last visit on October 2003, Sweet Home is selling their rooms at 2500 bahts during the low-season and 3500 bahts during the high season. However, advanced reservation is recommended as I was told that rooms for the month of November and December are fully booked since 3-4 months ago.

Unique Qualities: Sweet Home Restaurant and Bed & Breakfast is positioned in lush woodland on a hillside overlooking the beautiful Patong Bay. Situated away from the hustle and bustle of the town, yet only a three minutes drive from Patong beach, Sweet Home is set in a tranquil tropical garden, with a panoramic vista of the ocean and distant mountains.

Sweet Home also offers free pick-up and drop-off service in the Patong area for patrons of their restaurants.

Personally, I have never lodge here but I knew this hotel when I am conducting some survey for my business.

The owners of Sunset Point has put huge efforts by building this hotel on the edge of the hill. It is located at Kalim beach, north of Patong and less than 10 minutes drive from Patong beach.

It has many beautiful and clean air-conditioned rooms directly facing the sea. GREAT SEA VIEWS!!! A very romantic location for couples. Sunrise and sunsets can be viewed from the large windows in the rooms. To enhance the romantic atmosphere, the bigger rooms does not even have a shower/toilet door.

I have visited this hotel twice. The first time was in May 2003 and they offered a room for about 1500 bahts. But during my last visit in October 2003, they were selling their rooms for 1000-1200 bahts. During the high season in November and December, I believe the rates per room can be anything from 1500-2500 bahts.

Don't forget to update me the rates if you happen to stay there between November to Janurary.

Unique Qualities: Sunset Point's only facility is its double storey sea-view restaurant overlooking the Kamala and Patong beach. It's unique because it is standing at the edge of the hill. It offers local and western dishes as well as romantic, quiet and peaceful atmosphere within the restaurant. Perhaps, its strategic location allows it to command prices a little more expensive compared to other restaurants. However, it is much frequented by the caucasians and Thais from mainland.

This hotel is owned by a Finn. This hotel caters to Germans and Finns. But of course, it is open to all nationalities.

The manager and the staffs are very friendly and helpful.

During my first trip to Phuket, I had pre-arrange the hotel reservation and airport transfer in advance. So when my group arrived at the Phuket International Airport, their staffs are already waiting for us at the arrival hall. Rooms are prepared and it was clean. Rented car was also on standby for my usage.

Excellent service!!!! And I paid for 600baht/night without breakfast.

The last time I stayed there during the peak season on Januarary 2004, I paid 1300bahts/per night.

Unique Qualities: Offers hotel rooms and bungalows.

Euipped with private beach; restaurant and swimming pool facing the sea. Local Thai massage centre, dive centre and car rental.

It also has horse-riding on the beach. The horse-riding centre is just opposite the hotel.

The Orchid Hotel is a small, 4 storey 3* hotel at the Kalim beach, just 5 minutes drive north of Patong beach.

It is directly facing the sea and has 25 standard, superior and deluxe rooms. Most of the rooms have a clear sea-view. This hotel is good for family travel because of the warm hospitality it offers. All rooms are euipped with Cable TV, IDD phone, mini-bar and safety box.

Other facilites it provides are internet corner and laundry services. It also has a swimming pool, restaurant, car rental and mini-travel agency. The Orchid Hotel has its own fleet of transport vehicles offering airport-hotel, hotel -airport transfers and city tour. The mini-travel agency offers packages to nearby island like Koh Lanta and Koh Phi Phi. It also offers elephant rides, bungee jumping and even water rafting at Phang Nga.

During my last visit on October 2003, this hotel is selling their rooms for between 800-1500 bahts, depending on availability and season. All rates are inculsive of daily breakfast. But the breakfast service is exceptionally special which is different from most hotels. The Orchid Hotel offers breakfast of your choice until 11am. You can either dine at the restaurant or to request the food to be sent to your room.

If my memory doesn't shy away, The Orchid Hotel is owned by a Britain. I ever had a conversation with him and he is a warm and friendly guy. A professional and the good hospitality he emphasized on his staffs, gives most guests a good and wonderful stay at his hotel.

This hotel is worth a try!!
