For the budget traveller, Egypt is an obvious destination, and every city has its fair share of inexpensive hotels. Of all the places I've stayed in Alex, the Hotel Leroy stands out as a unique & bizarre experience. Nestled on the top floors of an older office building, the rickety elevator releases the guest into a world reminiscent of the Titanic. The hotel is comprised of ballrooms and grand staircases and has a dining room that overlooks the city. A tuxedoed waiter tends to your breakfast needs.
Unique Qualities: Great location: across from the Passport Office. The rooms are clean & large but rather dark - but, is still worth a visit. Very friendly staff.
