The end of the road is 1000 km south but continue and you’ll get to Svalbard, the top of the world, a group of islands the size of Irland and with only 2800 people.

This is the site of the world's northernmost hospital, airport, hotel, university department, department store, farm.. well whatever, if you don't find it here don't bother go looking north...

The flight to Svalbard is one mighty thing, one hour and a half flying over the Arctic Ocean before descending between snow-covered mountain tops and then stepping out of the airplane at bright daylight. That wouldn’t be much to it, if it wasn’t summer and at 1 am.

Your page brings back happy memories - we did not get to see the farm and the greenhouse in Barentsburg - went to the museum instead! Looking forward to meeting you in Paris!
