I always hear about how I MUST see the show in the Forum Mall at Caesar's Palace, when the statues come to life. Unfortunately, my timing is always impeccable - they are either malfunctioning, or down for general maintenance. Sigh.

Check out his trident, whoo-hoo! A lot of the malls in the major casinos have ceilings of sky blue with changing clouds projected on them, and they are lit in daylight tones. Gives a pretty nice impression of walking outside. This fountain is a pleasant spot to sit and watch the people go by. Of course, one of the things that always amuses me about Vega$ is the way they attempt to recreate various European and exotic spots with their theme malls. Misses the point entirely, that the people make the places, and you'll mostly just see the same old Americans in Desert Passage, the Forum, the Venetian, Paris Casino, etc. Not quite like people-watching in Beauborg Square!

Mirage: Siegfried & Roy's White Tigers

Despite the horrible accident in the Siegfried & Roy show, you can still see their beautiful white tigers at the Mirage. They are kept in a soundproofed glass front enclosure. I was concerned about such magnificent animals living in cages, but found out they are actually kept on a ranch, where they can roam freely outdoors. One or two are selected every few days to spend a short time on display at the Mirage. After those few days pass, it's someone else's turn. Not a bad gig, far better than a zoo! Although it's difficult to see such magnificent animals in captivity, for some it may be the main chance at survival that their species have going.

No, I did not take this pic while diving. Contrary to what you might imagine, there are no coral reef systems in the desert of Nevada. It's the salt water fish tank, at the Mirage, only one of many interesting little asides you'll find in virtually every casino.
