Sunrise On The Pipeline

Sunrise On The Pipeline
I've been living in Alaska for the last 7+ years, and I've still barely touched this vast land.

But I'm lucky enough to work out on the Alyeska Pipeline, which has taken me into some extraordinary places I never dreamed I'd see in this lifetime.
-4 Degrees In Anchorage

-4 Degrees Fahrenheit In Anchorage

Contrary to what you might believe, this was unusually cold for Anchorage! It's a coastal town, subject to the same moderating climate influences that keep Seattle mild and wet.

Last winter was much warmer and milder than usual, and the Iditarod sled dog race had to be moved to a different location in the Interior.

I hope my travelogues will give you some idea of the range and beauty of this immense state.
TOURIST SCAM WEBSITE

ALASKA VISITORS BEWARE!!!

It's been in the news, there is a huge scam going on that targets tourists through slick and attractive travel websites (see this link for SCAM STORY).

Be very careful which sites you use to book tours or lodgings for your visit. Do NOT use GoAlaskaTours.com or TravelAlaska.net, they are still up online, even though they are proven scams. If in doubt, contact the Better Business Bureau for specifics.
