| | -4 Degrees Fahrenheit In Anchorage Contrary to what you might believe, this was unusually cold for Anchorage! It's a coastal town, subject to the same moderating climate influences that keep Seattle mild and wet.
Last winter was much warmer and milder than usual, and the Iditarod sled dog race had to be moved to a different location in the Interior.

| | ALASKA VISITORS BEWARE!!! It's been in the news, there is a huge scam going on that targets tourists through slick and attractive travel websites (see this link for SCAM STORY). Be very careful which sites you use to book tours or lodgings for your visit. Do NOT use GoAlaskaTours.com or TravelAlaska.net, they are still up online, even though they are proven scams. If in doubt, contact the Better Business Bureau for specifics. |
