Ristorante Pappagallo - Grand Cayman

Ristorante Pappagallo

Ristorante Pappagallo: Fine Italian dining in a lovely north end setting

Known for it's fine Italian cusine, this restaurant way up on the north end near Spanish Reef Resort offers a lovely setting as well, landscaped over a pond. You can either dine outside or in, but the view is gorgeous from almost any table in the restaurant.

Favorite Dish: This entree (description clipped from their online menu, see link below) was to die for!

Lobster and shrimp sautéed with chopped tomato, mushrooms, green onions in a flaming brandy-tarragon cream sauce served with trecce dell' orto pasta and frazzled leeks

Comparison: more expensive than average

The Lighthouse At The Breakers - Grand Cayman

The Lighthouse At The Breakers

The Lighthouse At The Breakers: Delicious Food, Spectacular Setting

For a totally memorable and romantic fine dining experience, drive on down the island, about 10 miles past Bodden Town, till you see the famous lighthouse for which the restaurant is named.

Be sure to get a lamp-lit table on their stone pier, out over the water, for the ultimate ambience.
UPDATE: The pier was destroyed by Hurricane Ivan and has not yet been rebuilt, but you can still get water view seating in the screened outside area, with the soft surf lapping just below you while you eat.

The service is impeccable, in the grand tradition of Old World British elegance, white gloves and all. Johnny, my waiter, made each and every one of his customers feel as if we were utterly special, he was so knowledgeable and attentive!

But this one is a favorite, with good reason, so be sure you make reservations, and be sure to ask for one of the dock tables next to the water, so you can occasionally glance at the fish below while you eat.

Favorite Dish: Everything is luscious, but the menu changes to suit the season and the catch. I had a lobster bisque that was to die for, with a bottle of Due Uve Bertani that complemented the meal perfectly.

The Cracked Conch

The Cracked Conch: Famous For Its Seafood

Enjoy a delicious lunch of fresh conch fritters or catch-of-the-day, while dining on a deck over the ocean blue.

Favorite Dish: Well, it's the place more than anything, though the food is definitely good. But over & over my friends have asked me, "Where's THAT place, I want be in that picture!"

My Bar at the Sunset House - Grand Cayman

My Bar at the Sunset House

The Sea Harvest Restaurant: And A Little Bit Nicer

The Sea Harvest Restaurant at the Sunset House Hotel serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. My recommendation would be for you to try the lunch outside, and eat over at My Bar, the great open-air thatched-roof waterfront bar, overlooking the shore-dive reefs.

Comparison: about average

Directions: Just a little further south than the Seaview

Price: US$11-20

The Naked Fish - Grand Cayman

The Naked Fish

Naked Fish Restaurant: Fun, And A Bit Cheaper

Located on the premises of the Seaview Hotel, this relaxed and very casual restaurant offers everything from burgers to Mahi-Mahi, at a slightly more reasonable price than many of the island restaurants.

I especially enjoyed meeting some of the locals, chatting it up at the bar before eating. It's a friendly and easy place to wind down.

Comparison: less expensive than average

Directions: The Seaview Hotel is just a little ways south of Georgetown, along the waters edge.

Price: US$11-20
