In 1999, following my last papers for my college degree, one of my best friend, Woon, and I took a "graduation" trip to New Zealand's South Island celebrate to this event.

It was a trip filled with much wonders and excitment and was definitely a very enjoyable one as it was the first time, I am on a leisure trip to a non-Asian country.

During the visit, New Zealand clearly impressed me as an extremely tourist friendly place, but without being "touristy". It sounds oxymoronic, but that really was the case.

Southland, in particular, the town of Te Anau, was our major stop in New Zealand, due to its close proximity to Milford Sound and Doubtful Sound. We spent more than a week in this small but extremely charming tourist town, and when we had to leave, it was with many very happy memories.

Nice pics of Te Anau. Seems u got good weather. I went in Sept and it was cool. Enjoy the mountains on the other side of the lake. Cheers.
