A Brief History of Me....

Glentress Forest

And Now?

I now have a "proper job" doing IT work - well we can't live for free now.

So, this cuts my free time. In general, I like mountain biking, hiking, water polo, motor sports, PC Games and military history.

So I basically spend my time doing one of these things in the mean time.
Great Wall at Simatai

China 2005 and beyond

Having finally finished my degree, I celebrated by visiting China - mainly because of my Chinese girlfriend...

The Great Wall and Imperial Palace were fantastic!

I've been back three times now, mostly around the Shanghai area and even had the pleasure of staying in a dingy university dorm for a months Chinese course...
Mt Fuji Summit

Japan 2004

After the second serving of exams, I departed for another trip in June 2004, to the honourable land of the rising sun, Japan, about 1 month in all.

Meeting up with a Japanese friend from university, we climbed Mt Fuji from the very very bottom in no less than 12 hours.

I also visited several other brilliant places, and stayed with his family for some of the time. Thanks you!
Golden Gate Bridge

USA 2004

In between exam retakes, on February 1st of 2004, I departed on a nice long back-packing tour of the west coast of the USA, taking 45 days in all.

Great fun, of course, and plenty of friends met!
So Very Very Wrong

The University Years

After studying for two years of a BSc degree in Biology and Computing Science at UMIST, Manchester, they have the nerve to kick me out for not doing good enough in the second year. Yes that's right, I failed.

Luckily I had the chance to retake...
