There is a large marathon in Utica called "The Utica Boilermaker" I guess it is pretty well known.
This is where the race ends (finish line)
Utica Mental Institution
This is or was a huge mental hospital in Utica.
I remindes me of something from a horror movie.

The sign says Bleecker Street but the photo is looking down John St is it not towards OD and N Utica.
I think the houses in yoru picture were torn down when landlords let them go to rack and ruin and they stopped meeting code or else they burned down and were never rebuilt. The drug activity is further north on Bleecker Street.

I've never heard about Utica.
