OK so I studied French for how many years and never made it to France? 14 years later there I was. I have to admit that it was beautiful, if not a little daunting...
We found the employees at the department stores, and even the cab drivers, to be friendly and helpful, but the rudeness and condescension of the waitstaff at most of the restaurants took my breath away, despite my competency in French (and my innate charm ;-) ).
This is the most beautiful city in the world (Prague runs a close second), and I highly recommend you to go. |
