Welcome to Las Vegas.....Glitter City

The Neon Lights

Las Vegas, or "Glitter City", offers travelers so many activities that it is impossible to do and see it all in just one trip. The neon casino lights are always on, and a sight to behold in their own right. Gamblers will find opportunities ranging from penny slots to high stakes tables.

Along the Strip sights range from the Luxor pyramid, the NYC skyline, Aladdin's Castle, the Bellagio and its fantastic dancing water show, the Eiffel Tower of Paris, and much more.

Dining Opportunities

Dining opportunities abound, with fabulous buffets in nearly all the casinos. Favorites include Aladdin, Harrahs, and Monte Carlo, but for seafood lovers the only place to go is the famous Rio Seafood Buffet. It's expensive, can be crowded, but the food selection is overwhelming, fresh, and to die for. Save room for dessert!

You can't miss these sights

Free shows include the Bellagio fountains, Mirage Volcano, and Pirate Battle at Treasure Island. A bit pricy, but a must for romantics is the Gondola ride at the Venetian. For a birds eye view of the strip, the Stratasphere's viewing platform can't be beat. The best view of the Bellagio Fountain show is from the Eiffel Tower across the street at Paris Casino, but plan to fight the crowd for a good spot as it is packed. If you are a night owl, late evening finds it slightly less crowded. Not for those with fear of heights however.

Not to be missed is Fremont Street and the Fremont Street Experience. Located in the older downtown area, home to many of the original casinos, here a section of Fremont Street has been turned into a pedestrian mall covered with a canopy onto which laser light shows are featured several times a night. Definately worth the trip. Park in the nearby parking garage, and get your ticket validated for free parking. Several episodes of Fear Factor have recently been filmed here. Admission is free unless there is something like that going on.

Pros:"Much more to do then just gamble, lots of free shows"
Cons:"Traffic on the Strip is horrible at night, top shows in the Casinos are very expensive"
In A Nutshell:"More then slot machines, there is something for everyone here"
