Australia- Land of Mystery and Timelessness

A Land of Countless Beaches...

Bronte Beach, South of Sydney
The beaches of Australia just HAVE to be at the top of my list of what I will be think ing of when remembering my Australian experiences. We've spent a lot of time driving along the coasts... from Sydney up to Brisbane and back, and south to Kiama...

There they are.... crescent-shaped areas that have managed to catch and hold the sand washed along by the Pacific Ocean.

Ahhhh, and the Rainforests!

Yes, the rainforests! How formidable and almost impenetrable they are, with their massive trees, some of them almost invisible until you stumble over their twisting buttress roots. The ferns and fern trees, the vines, the mosses, and the curious bird calls echoing away into the depths of who knows what?

The rainforests speak of the uncountable years this land has known.... they are primitive and primordial; they take us back to before our earliest memories.

And this in turn evokes wonderment and awe of the Aboriginal culture and its tens of thousands of years of history before the Europeans came to this continent....

Would You Like Some Wine With That Cheese?

Our trip to the Hunter Wine Valley was unforgettable! And the realization that Australia has many such wine-producing regions might just put a smile on anyone's face!
