Brisbane Hotel Tips by swings

We stayed here for three nights in early October, 2004. Driving in to the driveway and pulling around to the door, you'll immediately feel comfortable by the surrounding plants and fountain. I really have no idea how big a hotel it is, but it felt small and cozy.

The service was good, especially since they moved us after we had already been in our room for a few hours. Upon reflecting that we had specifically asked for two double beds (well, we wanted something that gave more sleeping room than one double bed) when we booked online, my husband called to the reception and was told we could get a different room if we wished.

I definitely would recommend this hotel to others. It's in a handy and apparently safe location within Brisbane. The biggest disappointment with this "bed and breakfast" deal we got was that breakfast was terrible! For some reason the crumpets were all dried out, and most of the fresh fruit was tasteless, etc. But for all that, now that I see that we paid only $78/night, that's not a bad deal!

Unique Qualities: The beds were comfortable, both of the bathrooms we'd had were clean and neat (the first room had a newly renovated bath with a shower; the second was not new but had a bathtub and had nothing to complain about), there was adequate storage in drawers and closet, a small refrigerator, an ironing board, a color TV with in-house movies, AND an outdoor pool! Plus there is free underground parking in their garage, with easy access to the elevators.

The outdoor patio is a great place to sit and have drinks in the late afternoon to watch the sun set.
