All dressed up in spring colors | "Red Christmas" Heliconia angusta |
We drove this past weekend from Sydney to Brisbane and back. Probably we didn't do and/or see what most visitors do and see, but that's ok. We had a fabulous time exploring the rainforests and botanical gardens.
What was so evident to me was that it's SPRING in Australia! The country is in bloom, and it's gorgeous!
This picture was taken in the Mt. Coot-tha Botanical Gardens. |

| | The bougainvillea come in the most vivid colors, and there are many varieties in bloom. This picture was taken in the Roma Street Parkland. |
From hot to not.... the cool, leafy shade of this tree fern would be inviting on a hot day in the rain forest.
This specimen is also at the Mt. Coot-tha Botanical Gardens. | | | Cool, leafy shade of a tree fern |
