Restaurant Name: Russian Cuisine - "bon apetite"
Well for all those who want to experience/taste a traditional Russian meal in a traditional Russian environment, and i mean folk songs, "balalaika" and the whole nine yards, "Kalinka" would be the place. Although they also feature gypsy music every night. The place is not only good for the decor, the food is actually very tasty. You can get a nice meal form $15 and up.

For those who crave some "asian cuisine", this place has an enchanting oriental decor with authentic Cantonese and "Szechwan" specialties. Another benefit is that it is located in the Hotel "Europe", which is one of the best in the city. The restaurant closes at 11pm.

Restaurant Name: Coffee house
This place is as close as it gets to the American "Starbucks Cafe"...or the other way around ??!! It has more than 40 coffee blends, (way beyond then one should need if you ask me), a cool and unusual interior with a friendly atmosphere. They also feature a permanent exhibition of pictures by young Petersburg "avantgardists". Open noon to 11pm

Restaurant Name: International Cuisine
This place might be considered as an ideal place for romantic dining with a Medieval twist. It has a castle-like interior with a setting for royal honours under the vault of Camelot. Top-quality European dishes presented by a famous/local chef, (I've been told he's famous). They have a large selection of the best French wines to go eith the food. Live music every evening.

Restaurant Name: European/Scandinavian/Russian Cuisine
Personally, I am very fond of Scandinavian culture, so i was very glad to explore this place. As you all probably guessed the Restaurant/Bar has a Viking theme and offers generous portions of European, Russian and Scandinavian dishes. Most of the staff speaks english. They feature 25%discount on what they call "A La Carte" menu 12.00-18.00. Wednesday - Saturday they have Erotic cabarets in the show room loaded with all kind of follies. There is also a chance to loose some calories at the "Disco" that they through at mignight. The Show fee is only $6 bucks, (well maybe 'only' for me but anyway). Table reservations are recommended here. Open Su-Th 12.00-02.00, Fr-Sa 12.00-04.00

Restaurant Name: European/Russian Cuisine
This is definatelly not "Camelot" nor "Valhall". Located at the famous Astoria Hotal this place is very prestige. On the overall this was too 'formal' and 'fancy' for me. But im just into more relaxed cozy places :) However this place is known throughout St. Petersburg for a tasteful atmosphere, reminiscent the stylish Russian Aristocracy. They also have a pleasent menu, with many specials (so i swiped one). "Buffet breakfast from 7 a.m. until 10.30 a.m. Dinner from noon until 11.00 p.m. Executive Luncheon Wide selection of salads and mouthwatering desserts. A choice of main course. From Monday to Friday from noon until 3 p.m. Sunday Brunch Buffet A wide range of Russian and International specialties. Champagne and wine, live music. Every Sunday from noon until 3.30 p.m. " For more information refer to their "GOURMET CALENDAR". 210-58-99. I guess as a famous hotel they can show off by having one!

Restaurant Name: European/Italian Cuisine
I live in New York and of coarse had the pleasure to visit many Italian restaurants, so i felt very interested to taste Italian food, made by Russian chefs and will gladly say that i was not disappointed! They feature regional Italian and mediterranean specialities (pasta, antipasta and yummy desserts). This would be an ideal choice for a nice supper/dinner. Open daily from noon to 11 p.m.. 329-60-00.
