Durham is the second largest city in the triangle area and is home to Duke University, the NC School of Science and Math, The Durham Bulls baseball team, and lots of old tobacco warehouses. There is actually a lot of history tied to the tobacco industry here. The town was originally a train depot and was officially established in 1853 when their U.S. Post office was built. |
| | Duke University Duke University has a very pretty campus and has a really good hospital and research center. During the summer time they host a lot of summer camps among them the American Dance Federation and the Duke Talent Identification program. The latter is an academic camp where students come and take college level classes. I worked here as a teaching assistant one summer for a film class and during a few weekend programs throughout the year. It's a really fun experience and it was a great way for me to get to know the Duke Campus and the surrounding city of Durham. Stay tuned for more updates on Durham. |
