San Francisco Travel Guide: 9,082 reviews and 19,107 photos
The Golden Gate bridge, Fisherman's wharf, trolley cars and a lot of walking is about all I remember about San Fransisco and that we made it here about 13 days before the major earthquake. Lucky us to have missed it. But anyway, out of all the places we saw on the 1989 trip, San Fransisco is really a place that I want to see again.
And I did get to see it again recently. I have a friend who lives here in the downtown area and she invited me to come visit. My spring break this year ended up being a perfect time for both of us. I spent about three whole days in the city, exploring both on my own and guided by Kate. The rapid transit and the bus system is very efficient, walking is fun but is a work-out no matter where you go or how slow your pace is.
A brief visit to the G.G. Bridge was in order but I managed to hit, among other places, Nob Hill, Fisherman's Wharf, Telegraph Hill, the North Beach area, the Mission District, and SF Museum of Modern Art, to name a few. I really feel like I covered a lot of ground but I've yet to truly delve into this city.

Tim, I'm originally from Oakland so remember SF quite well. Fond memories I have of the Golden Gate Bridge, Telegraph Hill & the Bay. My mom used to work as a private nurse on Nob Hill.
