Rainbow bridge costs $2 to walk across from which you can get good views of the American Falls. There is a toll for vehicles but cannot remember price, sorry.
Crossing the border was no problem at all. Passports were checked and questions of business/pleasure asked. There was no hold up at all. There are some duty free stores on each side of the border to stock up if you desire.
If you get the chance you must venture away from the hotels into more that the area has to offer. Around 10 minutes drive you will be out of the hotels and into the countryside. This was what I hoped Niagara would be more like, nature trails and views of the canyon. The Niagara Glen is signposted with a car park lay by. Then head down a few! steps. There are a number of trails signposted. Easy to spend 1 to 3 hours here as long as you can make it down the steps.
Shows start on the hour, first at 10am was in Japanese! and the last at 4pm. We arrived with our vouchers at 3:50pm. By the time we had got to the front of the queue the show had started and we were not able to get in:( In the end there were other things to do so we missed this.

Clifton Hill is really the place to take the children. The attractions and rides are the closest thing to Blackpool, UK that I have ever come across yet with less style somehow. The choices are plain to see and great for the family - if you can afford it!
The best view 'Behind the Falls'
One of those 'must do' jobs. The trip behind the falls takes you through tunnels to see glimpses of the horseshoe falls, Canada side. The best bit was the view from the base of the falls.
When it gets warner you can get to a lower observation platform but it was still covered in ice and therefore closed at Easter.
The whole thing is closed in the depths of winter and the observation areas are undercover so no need for those souvenir rain coats

Spent a pleasant two hours or so in this aviary. The entrance was one of the freebies that were included in our acommodation deal.
There were some very pretty birds and you work your way around until you reach the area with a small waterfall. We had not seen such a spectacular waterfall for ages!! This area includes a pleasant Java style cafe which served non alcoholic cocktails.
There are a number of photo opportunities that staff take and you will see them on your exit so you can spend some more money!
Directions: Close to the border crossing at Rainbow Bridge
