A few days spent enjoying this area of Germany - my first visit to Germany since Oktoberfest 1992 - a very different way to spend the time this time in Germany. Read on for a few tips that hopefully capture the idea that staying in this area is a delight. First off - no one else I know has ever stayed in the forest here. The hospitality we received was excellent from local people - absolutely brilliant, so many people could not do enough to help us out especially given my very poor German language skills. A car is essential here to make the most of the small towns and villages dotted around. We enjoyed a holiday where you spend a day or so checking out different parts of the Odenwald Forest area.
