"Harvest time in Jayous" Jayyus by mafi_moya

Jayous is a lovely, sleepy little village of about 3000 people, set amid fields of olive trees and orange groves. It's laid back, with friendly people and dusty narrow lanes full of children and donkeys, and it's hard not to quickly feel attached to the place.

Like most of Palestine it's a village under occupation and the daily lives of the villagers are dominated by the activities of the Israeli soldiers, the 'Apartheid Wall' (now completed in this part of the West Bank), and the constant hassles of checkpoints, arrests and permits.

Life in the rest of the West Bank is very hard now, as you point out. You need a new passport now, too;-\
