Ajlun Castle is a superb military castle built in the 12th century by the nephew of the great Saladin, to control the routes through the Jordan Valley.
Perched on a hilltop, on a good day you can see for hundreds of miles. Typically, when I went it was dull and miserable and you could hardly see past the nearest hill... but it was still an awesome view. |

MalenaN Fri Jun 3, 2005 06:16 UTC The view and castle looks great! I plan to visit Ajlun and Jerash on a daytrip from Amman next time I visit Jordan. | Djinn76 Tue Jan 4, 2005 09:33 UTC I've missed this wonderful castle! Hopefully for a next time! Glad to have been to Kerak, at least I have seen a nice fortress as well ;-) How did you go there? From Amman? Bus? Taxi? Car? |
