Tabaqat Fahil is the modern Arabic name of the village where the Roman ruins of Pella are found.
Much smaller than the fantastic ruins at Jarash or Um Qais, if you've seen those then there's nothing really new here. But the scenery is far superior, set in a lush green valley with golden yellow hillsides, and there were fewer tourists. If you're in the area already then it's definitely worth a look. |
