"The Holiest of Holy Cities" Jerusalem by mafi_moya

Jerusalem, or Al Quds in its Arabic name, is without a doubt my favourite city in Israel-Palestine.
Three of the world's largest religions have their holiest sites literally within a stones throw of each other and the city is a fascinating blend of conservative religion and modern life. It manages to feel totally exotic and mysterious, and yet completely familiar all at the same time.

I am open to correction, but it looks like you left yourself a message on this page! hee hee
Good spot Gil thanks, not sure how that one passed me by. Oh well at least he's neither now
Wish I could visit the Temple Mount. I was there many years ago,. Time to update your tips, though. Ariel Sharon was never the president - he was the prime minister. But not anymore...
Very interesting pages - the photos in the Jerusalem page are fantastic - T4F
I totally agree about Jerusalem seeming so 'familiar'....
All of your tips are very good reasons to visit Jerusalem. Your pictures seem to show a 'quieter' Old Town than the one I remember ;-\
I was here some years ago and it's a wonderful place! Great to see another camel here too... ;)
