Laguna is located directly at the southern end of Rizal Province and bounded by the Sierra Madre Range on the east, Quezon Province on the south and Batangas and Cavite Province on the west. It is only about thirty kilometers away from Manila.

Laguna is one of the six continuous provinces that comprise the so-called growth corridor sub-region of the Southern Tagalog Region (or Region IV), which are along the expansion paths of Metropolitan Manila area (MMA). The other five provinces are Aurora, Batangas, Cavite, Quezon and Rizal.
