Cacak is my home town where I attended elementary and high school. My parents and my sister still live there. It is situated in the west part of Serbia and the river Zapadna Morava runs through it. Cacak is only 144km far from Belgrade and you can reach the town by the Ibar Highway. Remains of material culture confirm that life has been existing on this territory since prehistory. The oldest remains are Illyrian duke’s tumulus in the village Atenica which is near Cacak and Roman thermes in the centre of the town.
It was first mentioned as a fortification called Gradac in the second half of the XIIth century. The oldest record of the town was found in a document which is kept in the archive of Dubrovnik, dates from 3rd January, 1409.
Cacak is one of the most important industrial, cultural, educational, scientific, sport and public-health service center of Serbia.
