I'm not clear about what to do with the history of the Holocaust. Of course there's need to remembrance. But what I saw in Oswiecim wasn't nice at all because of the tourists. Some of them took hundreds of close up pictures. They took hours of film. Is Oswiecim for them Disney Land? Do they even realise what happened here? I even saw a guy climbing in an oven when his friend took a picture. How cruel can you be? That's why my page will be in total silence. We took only some pics and you can find this in the travelogue. |

I would like to visit one day - but I am not sure if it is the right thing. | Sininen Thu Mar 23, 2006 19:04 UTC Hi Kris! Thank you for your birthday wishes. I didn't do anything you wouldn't ahve done, so don't worry. I agree with you about Oswiecim. Been there, but am not sure how I feel. | rboittier Thu Sep 1, 2005 10:57 UTC Kris. I agree with you. We felt like we were invading the space of peoples' "graves" but at the same time had a desire to remember them so they did not die for nothing. |
